India are scheduled to play three Test, six ODIs, and three T20Is on the much-awaited tour, starting January 5, next year.
The first of three overseas tours before travelling to England and Australia, it’ll be a test for Virat’s men who have been in formidable form this home season, winning nine Test and eight ODI series on the trot. Most of these wins, however, came in the Indian subcontinent.
While India will search for its maiden Test series in South Africa, the pressure will lie on batsmen to score runs heavily against a world-class bowling line on bouncing tracks and the bowlers, on the other hand, would have to bowl longer spells to put Proteas under pressure, which is very unlikely than what they do in the Indian sub-continent.
